The Blue Boar is a fabulous, traditional pub serving real ales and home-cooked food from its stunning location on the Green in the picturesque village of Aldbourne in Wiltshire. The pub is a Wadworths house with Wadworths 6X, IPA and Bishops Tipple always available along with two regularly changed guest ales as well as a selection of draught lagers, beers and cider. There is a fabulous selection of single malt whisky along with a comprehensive wine list. All food is prepared on the premises. Booking, particularly at the weekends, is strongly advised.
Aldbourne is a quintessentialy English village, the epitome of the ‘picture postcard’ village set a valley on the Marlborough Downs and the Blue Boar is everything you would expect from a traditional country pub. The village Green is set back from the main road meaning there is little or no traffic so eating and drinking outside is a joy – views of the beautiful houses that surround the Green, the Celtic cross and the 15th century church.
The Blue Boar sits at the heart of the village with many activities taking place on the green including the Easter Eggstravaganza, the Feast, Fete, Beer festivals, annual carnival and band concerts.
Michael and Joanne Hehir welcome you to the Blue Boar to sample the unique atmosphere of our 15th century village pub. We serve traditional homecooked food, locally sourced where possible. We also serve the finest Wadworths ales; 6X, Henry's IPA, Bishops' Tipple, Swordfish, Wadworths seasonal ales and a rolling guest ale. Traditional ciders from Westons and Thatsher's and an impressive selection of Malt Whisky also on offer. A carefully selected Wine list compliments the traditional fare, lunch or dinner Monday to Saturday or our popular Sunday Roast offering.
We look forward to welcoming you and looking after you.
